Today in The Bahamas, traffic stopped, pageant worthy hand-waves filled the air, and the crowd cheered, as the 2009 Miss Universe contestants took over Bay Street in Nassau. The contestants exchanged smiles and kisses with the onlookers as they sailed down the street on floats. Excitement and tension fills the air as the August 23rd date of the pageant continues to draws closer. The parade was given by The Islands Of The Bahamas for the contestants of the 2009 Miss Universe Competition.

After several days of exploring The Islands Of The Bahamas – riding jet skis in The Exumas, boating in The Abacos, peaking into the Fountain of Youth on Bimini – the contestants of the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant get down to business. The 84 beauties are locked in rehearsals for the 58th Miss Universe Pageant, now just three days away. One contestant’s life will change forever but before being crowned, she must perfect her strut in 5 in. stilettos, polish up her interview skills and master that all important dance routine.
