Cat Island
Sports Illustrated swimsuit models have roamed Cat Island, and so has a priest, who built a miniature monastery in the 1930s at the top of Mount Alvernia with its 360-degree views. Retrace their steps while also exploring uninhabited cays and hidden coves, snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing and hiking a nature trail. Relaxing and uncrowded, Cat Island also prides itself on producing The Bahamas' signature rake 'n scrape music and holds an annual festival dedicated to it.
